Terms of Use – Bishvil

Introduction

Bishvil is a navigation and outdoor activity app for cycling and hiking. By using Bishvil, you agree to these Terms of Use.

Use of the App

Bishvil provides maps, navigation, GPX route display, ride discovery, offline maps, and points of interest as convenience tools only. The app is not a substitute for professional navigation equipment, local knowledge, or safety planning.

Navigation and Outdoor Safety

The Route Planner, maps, navigation, turn alerts, route suggestions, elevation information, and other route information are aids only — not a guarantee of a safe or legal route. Outdoor activity carries inherent risks. Be aware that:

• A computed or displayed route may contain errors, or may pass through roads, trails, areas, or crossings that are closed, restricted, private, dangerous, unsuitable, or no longer accessible
• Conditions, access restrictions, maps, and trail information can change, including due to weather, terrain, traffic, construction, or military or security restrictions
• Map data and points of interest may not reflect current conditions
• Do not rely on Bishvil as your sole source of safety or navigation information

User Responsibility

By using Bishvil, you agree that you are solely responsible for your own safety and for the results of using the app. This includes:

• Checking that a route is legal, open, safe, and suitable for your abilities, bicycle, equipment, weather, and current conditions
• Obeying laws, signs, closures, access restrictions, and instructions from authorities
• Using appropriate equipment and being physically prepared
• Assessing field conditions before and during your activity

Routes, Maps, GPX Files, and Offline Maps

GPX files are user-provided or user-selected. Bishvil does not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or safety. Offline maps are downloaded for use without connectivity and may not include recent changes. Always verify conditions from authoritative sources before relying on any route or map.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Ride Events and User Content

When creating or joining ride events or contributing any content to the app, you must not upload, share, or create content that is illegal, abusive, harmful, misleading, or that infringes on others' rights.

Content You Upload

When you upload a route or other content to the service, you grant Bishvil a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, process, and analyze it as needed to operate the service, enable synchronization, provide security and support, prevent misuse, and improve and develop Bishvil. This license does not transfer ownership of your content to us. We may continue to use information that has been anonymized or combined with other data in a way that no longer identifies you, even after the route or account is deleted.

Service Limits and Cloud Storage

We may apply or change reasonable limits on the number of routes, file size, upload frequency, storage, and other use of the service, and may reject, suspend, or remove uploads or access that threaten security, stability, or legal compliance, or that indicate misuse. We may also change, suspend, or discontinue cloud saving or other features where reasonably necessary. Cloud storage is a convenience, not a guaranteed permanent backup — please keep your own copies of important GPX files.

Premium Features

Some features require a premium subscription or payment. Premium and offline map features may change over time. Specific pricing and subscription terms will be provided when applicable.

Availability and Changes

Bishvil is under active development. Features, map data, availability, and these Terms may change at any time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

Limitation of Responsibility

Bishvil is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bishvil does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, safety, legality, or suitability of any route, including routes created with the Route Planner. Bishvil is not liable for losses, injuries, or damages resulting from reliance on the app, map data, routes, or navigation guidance. You use the app at your own risk.

Privacy

Your use of Bishvil is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
